Meet Daniel Wilson, NAPA District Manager in Columbia, SC and one of our Best Parts at NAPA! We interviewed Daniel about his successful career here at NAPA and asked him what advice he would give others who are interested in or never considered working for NAPA. Let’s meet Daniel…..
NAPA – What is your current job?
Daniel – Currently I am the District Manager for NAPA Columbia, SC.
NAPA – What are you responsible for in your current role?
Daniel – I manage our Company Store group and all things people to include our store associates and customer base. My role is to support and equip our teams with the tools and resources they need to succeed, execute our initiatives, and ultimately dominate our market by outperforming the competition on a daily basis.
NAPA – What position(s) have you held at NAPA?
Daniel – I began my career with NAPA in September of 2006. I was hired as a part-time driver while attending college. During my 9 ½ year career I have worked as a Counter Salesman, Outside Sales, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager at 3 different locations, Associate District Manager, District Operations Manager and District Manager.
NAPA – Where did you work before coming to NAPA?
Daniel – I had held various jobs before coming to NAPA, in the Construction and Food Service industries.
NAPA – Do you have to love cars and know everything about a car to work at NAPA?
Daniel – Absolutely not. Prior to working for NAPA, I could change out wiper blades and an air filter…maybe
NAPA – Do you have to have special education/certifications to work at NAPA?
Daniel – No, people from so many different backgrounds have found success within NAPA. Different educations, backgrounds and interests are all welcomed for the right individuals.
NAPA – What is the culture/values at NAPA?
Daniel – We are a Company of high integrity and passion. Integrity in dealing with our customers, employees, and other members of our teams. Passion in being the absolute best in everything we do, executing at a higher level than our competition and driving results.
NAPA – What makes you successful in your role at NAPA?
Daniel – Every individual has a different path here at NAPA, for me personally, I view my time in the stores as invaluable. It gives me a high level of credibility and relationship with my teams knowing I’ve “been there, done that” so I can be a good resource for them.
NAPA – What advice would you give to someone who wants to work at NAPA and what type of people (skill sets, personality, etc.) does NAPA look for to work here?
Daniel – We look for individuals with a positive attitude, pride and a competitive work ethic. Anyone with those core values can succeed at NAPA.
NAPA – Finally, we asked Daniel what he does for fun when he is not working at NAPA?
Daniel – Anything active and outdoors!
